Hardness:  Bamboo has a Janka hardness rating of 1380 for the Natural color and 1180 for the carbonized colors in both Horizontal and Vertical grains compared to 1260 for Red Oak.  However, Strand Woven Bamboo has a Janka hardness rating more than double that of Red Oak.
